Obituary: George Russell, February 1973 Contributed by Brenda Scott Hines Feb 2015 *********************************************************************** San Angelo Standard Times, Tom Green County, February 13, 1973 Russell Services Set In Blackwell George Russell, 82 died at Bronte County Hospital at 10 a.m. Monday after a long illness. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Blackwell with burial in Blackwell Cemetery under the direction of Newby Funeral Home of Bronte. He was born Feb. 4, 1891 in Coke County. He was married to Willie Reaves Nov. 14, 1921 in Sweetwater. He had lived in Bronte for the past four years and in Blackwell 30 years before moving to Bronte. He had also been a resident of Winter's in the 1930's. He was a retired stock farmer and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. George Russell of Bronte; a daughter, Mrs. Billy Clark of Greenborough, N. C.; a son, Herman Craft of Temple; two brothers, Make Russell of Bronte and J. P.
