Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder November 18, 2007 James Earl Brown Funeral services were held last week for James Earl Brown, 54, of Teague who died Friday, Nov. 2 in his residence. Mr. Brown was born in Fort Worth on Aug. 2, 1953 to parents Earl and Cecile Shanklin Brown. He attended Poly Technical high school and Tarrant County Junior College in Fort Worth. Mr. Brown was employed by Fort Worth Osteopathic Hospital, James L. West Nursing Facility, Fort Worth food bank and Fairfield independent school district. In April of 1974, Mr. Brown enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on May 18, 1978. He married Sylvia Huckaby in 2001 on Valentine's Day and was a member of First Baptist Church South Teague. Services were held at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 at First Baptist South Teague with Rev. C.J. Wiley and Rev. Fred Lampkin offficiating. Burial was at DFW National Cemetery in Grand Prairie. Pallbearers were Steven Flaggs, Marvin Thompson, Danny Johnson, Bennie Lee and Dobbis Carter, Jr. Mr. Brown is survived by wife Sylvia Brown of Teague; stepsons Dobbis Joe Carter, Jr. and Darrell Roblow, both of Teague; stepdaughters Sajuana Roblow of Fort Worth and Roberta Roblow of Teague, mother Cecil P. Brown of Fort Worth; brothers Melvin Brown and Kevin Brown and wife Alice, all of Fort Worth; sisters Gwendolyn F. Wade and Patricia D. Brown, both of Fort Worth; and eight grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Earl Brown, Sr. and three brothers, Earl Brown, Jr., M.C. Brown and Calvin Brown. Worth, Texas on August 2, 1953. He went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 2, 2007, at his residence in Teague among loving family and devoted friends. He grew up in Ft. Worth and attended the Poly Technical High School there. J.B. was baptized in the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church of Ft. Worth by Rev. Halman. J.B. and Sylvia Huckaby were married on Valentine’s Day, 2001, in Ft. Worth. J.B. attended Tarrant County Junior College in Ft. Worth and was employed by Ft. Worth Osteopathic Hospital, James L. West Nursing Facility, The Ft. Worth Food Bank and the Fairfield ISD. Mr. Brown enlisted in the U.S. Navy on April 16, 1974, and was honorably discharged on May 18, 1978. J.B. loved his church, First Baptist South Teague and did all that he could to help the church move forward. He loved his family and his friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. J.B. was preceded in death by his father Earl Brown, Sr., and three his brothers Earl Brown, Jr., M.C. Brown and Calvin Brown. Those who will cherish his memory most are his wife Sylvia Brown of Teague, Texas; his step-sons Dobbis Joe Carter, Jr. and Darrell Roblow of Teague, Texas; his step-daughters Sajuana Roblow of Ft. Worth, Texas and Roberta Roblow of Teague, Texas; his mother Cecil P. Brown of Ft. Worth, Texas; his brothers Melvin Brown and Kevin Brown and his wife Alice all of Ft. Worth, Texas; his sisters Gwendolyn F. Wade and Patricia D. Brown both of Ft. Worth, Texas, eight grandchildren, a number of aunts and uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers for Mr. Brown were Steven Flaggs, Marvin Thompson, Ray Bostic, Dennis Lewis, Cecil Tubbs, Charles Robinson, Danny Johnson, Bennie Lee and Dobbis Carter, Jr. Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home of Teague is serving the Brown family.
