Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper March 26, 2009 J.P. "Perk" Hudson Funeral services were held last week for J.P. "Perk" Hudson of Fairfield, 81, who died Saturday, March 14. Mr. Hudson was born in Hefner on Aug. 11, 1927 to Jerry and Roberta Bailey Hudson. During World War II, he served in the United States Army. Following the war, he was employed as a truck driver. Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, at Fairfield's Griffin Roughton Funeral Home with Rev. Ward Hudson officiating. Burial followed at the Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville. Mr. Hudson is survived by his wife, Fern Van Dyke Hudson of Fairfield; sons, Bill Hudson and wife Kim of Sadler and Ken Van Dyke and wife Stephanie of Nacogdoches; daughters, Anita Rae Jacobs and husband Bill of Lake Dallas, Laurie Gipe and husband David of Sugar Land, Michelle Van Dyke of Longview, Bobbie Gandy and husband Bob of Grandview, Vickie Denman Cox of Grandview; sister, Eva Marie "Sue" Baker of Whitehouse; seven grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife Betty Ann Hudson; son, Perry Wayne Hudson; and grandson, Matthew Leigh Hudson. Arrangements were made by Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home of Fairfield.
