 George Alton Jones II - Fairfield
 Born July 1, 1962     Died October 7, 2008 
 

George Alton Jones II, a former resident and high school graduate of Fairfield, 
died in San Antonio from a brain aneurism.  He is survived by Sonja Jones and 
their two children, Dana and Joseph.  His mother, Barbara Gerganess of Winkler.
Sister, Jennifer Granberry and Carol Bradley of Fairfield.  Numerous cousins, 
neices, and nephews throughout Texas.



Alton served in the Air Force and gradusted college, Cum Laude.  He owned 
rental property in Fairfield, but spent most of his time with his family in 
Schertz.  He was devoted to his childrenand was actively involved in their 
sports activities, and he loved to play golf.  His final act of kindness to 
this world was by being a Life Gift Donor.  The day after his death surgeons 
flew in from around Texas and transplated his organs into eight recipients. 
They have a chance to live and in addition two children can now see.



Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the 
Lakeside United Methodist Church with Rev. Sandra Hippman officiating.  Burial 
will follow at Lake Chapel Cemetery in Fairfield.  Pallbearers will be Johnny
Pospisil, Scott Leatherman, Brian Granberry, Sam Bsherber jr., Jack Carey and 
Rusty Carey.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Sherber and Timothy Sherber.
