Mexia Daily News - Nov. 19, 2003 edition Roosevelt Jones TEAGUE - Funeral services for Roosevelt Jones, 88, of the Simsboro community (Freestone County), will be conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock in Moore's Angelic Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Roger Hunter, pastor of St. James United Methodist Church-Teague, will officiate. Burial will be in Inglewood Cemetery in Los Angeles, California. Mr. Jones, born July 4, 1915, in Alexandria, Louisiana, died Nov. 11 at his residence. He also had resided in Houston, and was honorably discharged in 1944 from the U.S. Navy. A teacher and carpenter, Mr. Jones was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner in Los Angeles. Surviving are his children - Robert Clarence Jones of Dallas, Joy Wynette Hudspeth of Los Angeles, California, and Sharon Ruth Munoz of Teague; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and his siblings - Rosa Mae Pugh of Chicago, Illinois, Rutha Mae Preuitt of Compton, California, Ida Lea Thomas of Houston, Gertrude Deloris Carraway of Compton, California, and Melvin Jones of Houston. Pallbearers are Hyram of Tyree Grand Lodge, Harvey Adams, Houston Gregory, Charles Gage, Oscar Willie, Jr., William Bazadier, Frank Bazadier, Ronald Reynolds and Paul Reynolds.
