Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Obituary for Audrey Kay (Pittman) Jones Audrey Kay Jones, age 69, of Rowlett, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 6, 2025, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on January 5, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Gene A. Pittman and Mary Pittman. Audrey lived a life filled with faith, creativity, and compassion. She worked for many years as a talented Graphic Artist, using her artistic gifts to brighten the lives of others. She was naturally curious and loved learning new things. Her passions included drawing, painting, music, reading, and gardening, all of which reflected her artistic and joyful spirit. She was deeply committed to her faith and found great joy in serving the Lord. Audrey was actively involved in various women’s Bible studies over the years and especially cherished the lasting friendships she made through the Glory of Zion women’s group. Growing up as one of five siblings, Audrey treasured her large family and loved the special summers she spent as a child on her grandparents’ farm in Fairfield, Texas. She was a devoted wife to her husband of more than 40 years, Jared Jones, and a loving mother and grandmother who poured her heart into her family. Audrey was remarkably selfless — always willing to help those in need. She made those around her feel genuinely loved and welcomed, opening her home on many occasions to provide comfort and care for others as though they were family. Audrey is survived by her husband, Jared Jones; her children, Mark Duvall and his children, and Justin Jones and his wife Crystal Jones, along with their children Jackson, Preston, Avery, Griffin, and Beckett Jones; and James Jones and his significant other Jade Williams. She is also survived by her beloved mother, Mary Pittman; her siblings, Jeanmarie Sawyer and her husband Eldred Sawyer, Jacqueline Haigler, and Larry Pittman; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Gene A. Pittman; her sister, Elizabeth Marrow; her sister-in-law, Leslie Pittman; and her grandparents. Audrey will be remembered most for her loving spirit — the joy she carried into every room, the compassion she showed to others, and the faith that sustained her throughout her life’s journey. Her legacy of love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched so deeply. A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 10 at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, Texas, with Pastor Eldred Sawyer officiating.
