Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder - May 05, 2007 edition Creola Mae Mitchell Funeral services were held Sunday, April 29 in Fairfield for Creola Mae Mitchell, 77, of Fairfield who died Tuesday, April 24 in Fairfield. Mrs. Mitchell was born April 30, 1930 in Freestone county to Daniel Woodard and Maudie Richard. She was raised in the Butler community, attended school there and joined the Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age. She later joined Hemphill Church of God in Christ, and Faith Temple Ministries, where she was a member of the Mother Board. She was employed at Fairview Manor for more than 30 years. Services were conducted at 2 p.m. at Faith Temple Ministries. Eulogist was Pastor Patricia Rischer, and officiant was Pastor Carlos Daniels. Burial was at Rhode Island Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lee Alvin English, James Mack, Melvin Mims, Sherwin Rischer, James Tatum and Deacon Bud Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Andrew Dailey, Mack Alvin Hunter, Frank Morton, James Polk and Sylvester Rischer. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter, Chrysandra English of Fairfield; a brother-in-law, Mack Alvin Hunter of Sylmar, California; three grandchildren, Cedric English, Darian English and Michelle English, all of Waco; One great- grandchild, Xaviar English; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris L. Mitchell; and a son, Alvin Mitchell. Burial will follow at Rhode Island Cemetery in Streetman under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home in Teague. Mrs. Mitchell died Tuesday at East Texas Medical Center. A wake will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
