P., DR. - Died at his home at Tazwell, six miles southwest of this city, after an illness of several months. He had been in poor health for something like a year. Dr. Dickerson was born in Salem, Benton County, Mississippi, January 18, 1857. He graduated from Cecilian College, Hardin County, Kentucky in June 1878, and moved to Texas in 1882, locating in Denton county, where he taught school for a number of years and studied medicine, receiving license to practice in 1885. He moved to Hopkins County in 1887, locating at Miller Grove, where he continued the practice of medicine. On February 10, 1889, he was married to Miss Annie Burrus of Denton County. To this union came three sons, all whom survive. Seven years ago Dr. Dickerson moved with his family to Tazwell, where he continued to practice medicine, and where he resided at the time of his death. Services were held at the City cemetery. Rev. Wesley D. Thompson, pastor of the Methodist Church, in charge of services. (Sulphur Springs Gazette. 1915)
