James Sealand Stout , pioneer citizen, died at his home near Martin
Springs after a few weeks illness. He was 72 years old and a native of
Hopkins County where he had lived all his life. He is survived by two
sons, Lee Stout of Crush, and L. A. Stout of Martin Springs, and two
daughters, Mrs. Sula Flowers of Crush, and Miss Nettie Stout of Los
Angeles, California. Funeral services were held Monday morning at Pine
Forest with Rev. Edd Holt of the Church of Christ in charge, having long
been a member of that church. Burial followed in the Pine Forest
Cemetery. (Obituary dated Ap. 16, 1934)
