All rights reserved http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ***************************************************** David Marshall Sumrow Marshall—David Marshall Sumrow, 74, of Celeste died Tuesday at a Marshall hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, September 20, 1979, at the Colonial Chapel of the Sullivan Funeral Home with the Rev. L. A. Reavis, Jr., officiating. Burial will be at the Colonial Gardens. Sumrow was born July 22, 1905, in Merit. He attended Merit schools. He and the former Mattie Lou Harrington were married on May 10, 1930, in Durant, Oklahoma. A member of the North Baptist Church in Greenville, he was the owner of Sumrow Used Cars, also in Greenville. Survivors include daughters, Myrlene Carter of Pasadena, California and Lanelle Forbes of Marshall; sisters, Belle Kennedy and Wilma Callahan, both of Dallas; and eight grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death on March 5, 1974. Sullivan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (September 20, 1979, The Greenville Herald Banner)
