Thomas J. Vines

Thomas J. Vines, 59, born August 8, 1866, in Georgia, the son of E. Vines of
Carroll County, Georgia, and Betsie Richards, was a cotton buyer. He was
married.

He died in Plainview, Hale County, Texas, on March 11, 1926.

Mrs. O. E. Elliott, Plainview, Texas, was the informant.

Burial was made on March 13, 1926.

VINES

Thomas J. Vines, 34, August of 1865, GA GA GA, was farming in Hunt County,
Precinct 1, Texas, in 1900. He had been married thirteen (?) years to
Georgia, 24, May of 1866, (5 - 5), GA GA GA. The children were Ross, 12,
April of 1888, GA; Gussie (Augusta {?}) 10, January 1890, TX GA GA; Bessie, 7,
February 1893, TX GA GA; Thomas, 4, August 1895, TX GA GA; and Reagan, 2,
October 1897.

In 1870, William and Elizabeth have Mary, 18; Martha, 16; Ann, 14; Anna 12;
Jefferson, 4; and Edmond, 1. They are getting their mail out of the
Carrollton, Carroll County, Georgia Post Office.

In 1880, Thomas J. Vines, 14, is living with William, 53, his father, and
Elizabeth, 53, his mother. It is hard to read all the names, but he has two
older sisters (Ann and Movana) and a younger brother Edward L., 12. His father
and grandparents were born in Georgia. They are at 1297-Militia District,
Carroll County, Georgia.

In 1910, T. J. Vines, 43, married for twenty-three years said that his parents
were born in Alabama.  His wife, Georgia, 43, had given birth to ten children,
nine living.  In the household were Gussie, 20, TX; Bessie, 17, TX; Thomas,
14, TX; Ragan, 12, TX; Moody, 9, daughter, TX; Rachel, 7, TX; John, 5, TX; and
Glen, 2, TX.  Ross Vines is living next door, 22, just married, GA GA GA.  He
is married to Jewel, 19, (0 -0), TX TX TX.  They are living on the Greenville
and Terrell Road.
