When but a mere child, he accompanied his parents to Jasper county, Missouri where he resided four years; then emigraged to Madison county, Arkansas, remained there some four or five years, and again accompanied his parents to Jack county, Texas, in 1875, where he resided up to his death. Unlike many young men, he remained at home with his parents, ever attentive to their peace, felicity and comfort. He was loved best by those who knew him best. He contracted a severe cough some four or five years ago that proved to be incurable; yet he bore his illness with much patience and fortitude, until life was swallowed up in death. He was very assiduous and frugal in his short life, and blessed with many friends, and while we regret that we no more behold his presence here, we find consolation in the belief. "His soul, enlarged from its vile bonds, has gone To that refulgment would where it shall swim In liquid light and seat on some of bliss!" W.E.F.
