Funeral services have been set for 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Trinity Baptist Church with Harold Ludecke officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home. Toni was born March 5, 1917 in Enid, Oklahoma to Commodore and Carrie Abbie Swaney. She grew up in Enid and attended and graduated from Enid High School. She attended Phillips University Art Department in Enid until the war was declared in 1941. She then went to Enid Business College, a refresher course studying shorthand and typing so as to go to work at the Enid Army Air Corps, where she worked in the warehouse office in the supply department. She met Kenneth Beggs and after he returned from the war, they married in 1945. They moved to Abilene in 1945 and Kenneth worked for Lemon Shepherd Wholesale Co. After 6 months in Abilene Kenneth was offered a chance to open up a branch office for Lemon Shepherd in Vernon, TX where they remained until 1963 when they moved to Stamford to build and manage a John Deere dealership. They owned and operated Beggs Implement where they worked hand in hand until KennethÕs death in 1985.Toni was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by 1 daughter, Caron Anne Cantu and husband Carlos of Stamford, 2 grandsons, Wesley Shane Lindsey of Stamford and Matthew Cody Lindsey and wife Rebecca of Edmund, Oklahoma, 5 great grandchildren, Ashley, Branson, Chloe, Savannah and Colten Lindsey, and several nieces and nephews.
