Northington died at the family residence on Oak street of pneumonia. Mrs. Northington had suffered with weak lungs for some years combined with other troubles and has had several attacks of pneumonia. Mrs. Northington came here with her husband about 15 years ago, and her model life made her many warm friends. Her husband and children survive her, all being present when she died. She was 46 years of age. The funeral will take place from the residence Sunday. The Abilene Reporter News Friday, February 24, 1899 In Memoriam Departed this life 10 February 1899, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Northington, wife of John F. Northington, born in Monroe County, West Virginia, 27 June 1849. Her father and mother, Robert and Susan J. Miller, came to Texas in 1856 and on 22 December 1868 was married at Georgetown, Texas, to John F. Northington and now have nine children surviving them. She united with the Old School Presbyterian church at the age of 15 years and up to her death lived a true Christian life and her example as a Christian character should be emulated by all womanhood that loves a noble, true and good woman.
