BILLINGSLEY, J. L., Beeville Bee, 18 Nov 1904:

In the death of Mr. J. L. BILLINGSLEY, which occurred in Mineral City on Nov. 13th, 
Mr. Billingsley was stricken with paralysis the week previous to his demise.

He was born in Tennessee in 1832, came to Texas as a youth; settling in Bastrop 
County, he eventually in 1859 removed to Bee County.  He resided in Refugio County 
a few years and served one term as sheriff of that county.

He was in his 72nd year and leaves a wife and 9 children; John S. Billingsley of 
Sabinal, Walter Billingsley of Brownsville, Mrs. H. M. EADS of Beeville, Mrs. Nellie GRINER 
of El Paso, Mrs. G. C. PATTISON of Sabine Pass, Jessie, Willie, Aubrey and Roy Billingsley 
of Mineral.  

He was buried in Mineral, Rev. Kimball conducting the service.
