Debenport Cemetery

Close to the Ebenzer Community, this cemetery is on private property and is no longer visible.

A prominent family in the Camp County area from 1860, which was before Camp was established as a county.

Robert Eugene Debenport, the husband & father of the below burials, is buried in Ebenezer Cemetery. His 3rd wife, Parmelia Jeanne Hearne, is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery. She bore him 4 sons, Tom, Horace, Jerry & Bob.

According to Cemeteries of Camp County Texas, Vol 1, page 63, this cemetery is located on the Old Jefferson Road, as you head east on 557 going toward Ebenezer, turn right onto CR 4230. This cemetery is no longer visible. The markers were pushed over into a creek. It is thought there were at least 7 graves here.

It is possible that more children are buried in this cemetery.

A big THANK YOU for the transcription to Tricia Grimes.
