Saunders The regiment was formed in the summer of 1862 and included men from Belton, Austin and the counties of Washington and Upshur. It was assigned to Flournoy's, Waterhouse's, Scurry's brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department. In June 1863 it lost two killed and five wounded at Milliken's Bend. Three officers and 30 men were captured during the Red River campaign and it fought at Jenkins' Ferry. It moved to Hempstead, Texas and disbanded before the June 1865 surrender.
