Confederate Pension Applications
This list is from the online index at the Texas State Archives. Please check their site for other counties and information on how to order the application files.If your ancestor lived in Camp County between the 1890's and 1975 and served in the Confederate army or navy, there is a good chance he or his widow filed for a pension. They did not have to necessarily serve from Denton County. They could have enlisted in another county or even another state. If you find your ancestor listed, you can request a copy of the application from the Texas State Archives. They can contain valuable information.
Even if an application was rejected, there is still a file full of good information.
