CAMP COUNTY - ROSE HILL CEMETERY Jewell P. Garrett, age 97, and a native of Pittsburg, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2013. He is survived by his brother, Everett Garrett; three children - Howard Garrett and wife, Judy; Hank Garrett; Nancy Garrett Meier, and husband, Steve; and three grandchildren - Megan Meier, Garrett Meier and Logan Garrett. He was born December 2nd, 1916, to Fadie Garrett and Bessie Hardy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, and his loving wife, Ruby Howard Garrett. He served in the Navy during WWII and began his business as a radio shop which grew into a successful furniture and appliance store. He was a member of the Kiwanis club, the Pittsburg City Council, and a talented golfer at Princedale Country Club. Everyone who knew him would agree that he was the sweetest man ever. Services will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg with burial to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 13th, from 5 to 7 pm at the Erman Smith Funeral Home. Published in Dallas Morning News on Dec. 13, 2013
