Where We Are
Camp County is located in the northeast part of Texas and is named for John Lafayette Camp, a politician who came to
Texas just after statehood. The county seat is Pittsburg, which is northeast of the center of the county. The counties
surrounding us, starting in the northwest and continuing clockwise are
Franklin,
Titus and
Morris in the north, with
Upshur and
Wood counties in the south and west.
