Wilbarger County is located in North Texas, along the Red Rver, just east of the Panhandle.
The county seat is Vernon, located northwest of the county's center.
Our neighboring counties, starting in the northwest and continuing clockwise are
Harmon,
Jackson,
Tillman - all in Oklahoma. Back in Texas,
Wichita County is east of us and
Archer and
Baylor are south of us.
Foard and
Hardeman counties share our western line.
