SUTHER, William Crawford & Laura Tomson
contact Robert C. Peurifoy My paternal great-grandparents.
They died in Valley Mills in 1874 and 1875, only two months apart. I am trying to find their grave sites, but have
not been successful. This was a long time ago, perhaps before record keeping. As they had no family in Texas their may
not be a tombstone. They were not residents of Bosque County. Originally from North Carolina, they had been Baptist
Missionaries in South America, probably Peru. Their daughter was Kate Peru Suther. They died in Valley Mills while
returning from South America.
This information is taken from the book, William Scott and His Descendants. Most of the Scotts and Suthers were from
the area around Concord, North Carolina.
