Walling Bend Cemetery

All these graves were moved to Whitney Cemetery when the Whitney Dam was built. Directions and burials by Carolyn Sosebee. In Bosque County near Greenwade Crossing on the Brazos River, later a Ferry, and where in 1912 an iron bridge was erected by Bosque and Hill Counties. There was a community called Walling Bend. The cemetery there was relocated to Whitney, Hill County when the Whitney Dam was built. The following information was copied from the records at the Corp of Engineers office at Lake Whitney. There were also 101 unknown graves and 1 grave listed as a Mexican Grave.
