AC Nivin was reared in the Dyersville Community. Mary Spitzer came with her family to Bosque County in 1907, on a train to Clifton. Her family settled in the Garnersville community. She taught school for a time in Cooper (between Meridian and Clifton), and also at Garnersville and Dyersville, where she met AC. They moved to their home north of Meridian in 1936, where they lived their remaining years. AC farmed and ranched, did cattle auctions, and also sold real estate.
