Benjamin Apling Burdette and Millie Elizabeth came to Texas in 1865, after his return to Alabama, from the Civil War. They briefly stopped in Smith Co., Texas, then moved to Leon Co.,Texas and lived there from 1866-1881. They moved to Bosque Co., Texas 1881, and lived there until their deaths in 1921 and 1926.
