Location, Bosque County, TXGenWeb Bosque (boss-key) County is located just south and west of Fort Worth. Bosque (boss-kay) is a Spanish word meaning forest or woods. The county is named for the Bosque River that runs through it. The county seat is Meridian, located near to the center of the county. If you don't find your family inside the county, try our neighbors - to the north, you'll find Erath, Hood, Somervell and Johnson counties. Hill County is east of us and McLennan, Coryell and Hamilton counties are south and west of us.
