Brown County is in need of a coordinator. If you can spare a couple of hours a month, please contact Carla Clifton to adopt Brown or another orphan county in TXGenWeb.

Welcome

Brown County was founded in 1856, organized in 1858 and named for Henry Stevenson Brown, a commander at the Battle of Velasco, an early conflict between Texians and Mexicans. [Wikipedia]

The USGenWeb Project Archives are offline but the Texas files (minus the cemetery photos) are with our TXGenWeb county projects.

August 2004 County of the Month
This award was won by former coordinator, Sue Seibert.
