Where We Are
Reagan County is located on the Edwards Plateau, east southeast of New Mexico. It's named after John Henninger Reagan, who
was the postmaster general of the Confederate States, a U.S. senator, U.S. representative, and first chairman of the
Railroad Commission of Texas. The county seat is Big Lake located at the crossroad of Highway 137 and Highway 67 in the
southeastern quadrant of the county. We don't know why it's called Big Lake, maybe the original folks wanted one.
The counties around us, starting in the northwest are Midland, Glasscock and Sterling counties in the north. A two mile tall 'finger' of Tom Green County and Irion County are in the east. Crockett County has the southern border covered and Upton County is to our west.
