Pakan Cemetery
Est. 1905Pakan Cemetery is an active cemetery located in the SW Quandrant of Wheeler County, TX, Sec 127, Blk 23. This 1.3 acre plot was donated by the Godfrey Krc family in 1931. Presently, there are 53 graves in the cemetery (Oct. 2002). Most of these graves are those of pioneer Slovak residents who settled in the area known as Pakan Community, in the early 1900's.
Any one interested in reaching this landmark may take 1-40, Pakan Road Exit,/ FM Road 453 and travel 3 miles N to Co. Rd."X". From this point, proceed E for approximately 1/2 mile. On the N side of the road, a metal gate marks the entry to the cemetery, with an identifing metal marker from the Wheeler. County Historical Committee.
